Live Your Passion: 31 Days of Intentional Living

I have seen him for many, many years — a thin and fragile looking man in his sneakers and t-shirt. Slow and "steady" he runs around my neighborhood.

I saw him running the other day and thought about how amazing it is that he runs by himself. I can't imagine running now, let alone when I'm eighty-something.

What fragile running man has is passion. It's what gets him up and running at his age. And it's what fuels us all!

Several years ago a friend of mine decided to start an organization to protect children from childhood sexual abuse and I've been helping her. It lit a fire inside of me, stirred a calling I never knew I had in me. I'm a survivor. And I want to be part of keeping sexual abuse from happening to other children. It's definitely a passion of mine and I'm eager to serve in whatever capacity I can.

Deborah Day said:
"One is often so busy doing life that it is easy to avoid evaluating whether you are putting your energy in the direction you value most."
Is this true for you? Are you serving, volunteering, working for things you find value in?

I believe that intentional living means figuring out what you're passionate about and finding ways to make it part of your life.

Every creative field, every occupation, every organization or ministry needs people with passion, who believe in and love what they are doing. Sometimes it's not even about where you're serving, but about being able to use your gifts and talents in fulfilling ways.

Are you living your passion?

Do you have something in your life that excites or energizes you?

Are you utilizing your gifts and talents?

This is the eighth post in a series, called 31 days of Intentional Living. You can find all the posts in this series here, updated each day in October. Category: Inspirational & Faith
